Hello, I'm Regina Wilcox-Lewis, a proud native of Jackson, MS, and a dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for public service and community upliftment. My journey, shaped by various childhood and adult experiences, has ignited within me a profound desire to serve others and make a tangible difference in the lives of those around me.
I am a proud graduate of "Thee" Jackson State University, where I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work. My dedication to helping others was spurred by the urgent call for selflessness within my metropolitan community.
Professional Journey
My professional journey has been diverse and deeply rewarding. I began my career as the Program Director for Help Me Grow, a statewide initiative where I led efforts to connect at-risk children and families aged 0-8 with essential services crucial for their growth and development.
Afterward, I transitioned to working as a Nephrology Social Worker at a dialysis center. In this role, I provided indispensable support to kidney patients and their families, drawing from personal experiences with high blood pressure and diabetes within my own family. This firsthand experience fuels my determination to advocate for enhanced resources and care for those in need.
Most recently, I served as an ambulatory social worker at a local hospital. There, I dedicated myself to addressing the social determinants of health (SDOH) affecting patients. I worked tirelessly to connect individuals, especially those facing food insecurity, mental health challenges, housing instability, and transportation barriers, to the crucial services they need.
Community Initiatives
In addition to my professional endeavors, I am deeply passionate about giving back to my community. In 2016 and 2017, I founded Restoring Hope and Girls of H.O.P.E. (Honoring Ourselves & Pursuing Excellence). These initiatives focus on providing support, mentorship, and resources to young girls and women in need. Through events like feeding the homeless, organizing back-to-school supply drives, and hosting Christmas toy drives, my commitment to restoring hope and empowering others remains unwavering. My mentorship programs aim to inspire young girls and women to heal, transform, and embrace their authentic selves.
Philosophy and Vision
I firmly believe that to create the life one desires, it is essential to take proactive steps and invest in meaningful work. With dedication, compassion, and tireless advocacy, I strive to be a beacon of hope and strength for those I serve, leaving a lasting impact on my community and beyond.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about my journey and the mission of Restoring Hope. Together, we can continue to empower, transform, and build brighter futures for generations to come.
